What you are buying, and what you give up
This is a compatible. Premium White Box made it to work in the same machine as HP's W9061MC. It is not a HP product, it does not carry HP's warranty, and on a machine still under the maker's warranty or on a maker's service plan the genuine is sometimes the only cartridge allowed.
The honest part, from a long time in this trade. On a machine that is being looked after, a compatible is a real option. On a machine nobody is maintaining, a poor cartridge can streak, leak or take the drum with it, and a drum costs far more than the cartridge ever saved. Keep the machine clean and serviced and this is a sound way to cut a running cost. Do not, and it is a false economy.

What it costs per page
At $82.95 for about 12,500 pages, this cartridge works out at about 0.7 cents a page. That figure compares one cartridge against another, which is what it is for. It is not what a page out of the machine costs.
A colour page lays down all four cartridges, so what a colour page costs is the sum of the four, not this one figure.
Toner and nothing else. These figures are for toner alone. They do not include the drum or imaging unit, the fuser, the waste toner box, any other part, service, labour or paper. And the yield is the maker's rating at about 5 percent coverage of the page, so anything with photographs, heavy graphics or solid colour uses more toner and costs more a page than the figure above.
There is another way to buy it. On a DSA service agreement you pay one set rate a page, with toner, drums, parts, servicing and call outs included, so the cost of a page is fixed whatever the coverage and whatever the machine needs along the way. On most machines that works out lower than buying cartridges one at a time, and it is the same number every month.
