What you are buying, and what you give up
This is a compatible, and a premium one. Katun made it to work in the same machine as Kyocera's WT5191. It is not a Kyocera product, it does not carry Kyocera's warranty, and on a machine still under the maker's warranty or on a maker's service plan the genuine is sometimes the only cartridge allowed.
The honest part, from a long time in this trade. On a machine that is being looked after, a compatible is a real option. On a machine nobody is maintaining, a poor cartridge can streak, leak or take the drum with it, and a drum costs far more than the cartridge ever saved. Keep the machine clean and serviced and this is a sound way to cut a running cost. Do not, and it is a false economy.
The genuine Kyocera version
Kyocera make WT5191 themselves, at $38.95. It carries Kyocera's own warranty, and on a machine under warranty or on a maker's service plan it is sometimes the only cartridge allowed.
We sell both and we will tell you which we would fit. If the machine is on a DSA service agreement the question does not arise: toner is included either way and we carry the risk.
