What it costs per page

At $120.35 for about 1,000 pages, this cartridge works out at about 12.0 cents a page. That figure compares one cartridge against another, which is what it is for. It is not what a page out of the machine costs.

On this machine a black page uses the black cartridge only, but a colour page lays down all four, so a colour page costs the sum of the four:

Toner and nothing else. These figures are for toner alone. They do not include the drum or imaging unit, the fuser, the waste toner box, any other part, service, labour or paper. And the yield is the maker's rating at about 5 percent coverage of the page, so anything with photographs, heavy graphics or solid colour uses more toner and costs more a page than the figure above.

There is another way to buy it.
