Document Services Australia looks after copiers and printers for businesses of every size, from a single printer on a reception desk to fleets of office machines on contract. We service every major brand, sell and rent new Toshiba, Kyocera and HP machines as well as refurbished and renewed copiers, and supply genuine toner and parts.

The company started in 2013. The people who run it did not start then: they have been in this industry since the late 1990s, on the tools and behind the desk, through the years when a copier was a mechanical machine and through everything that has happened to it since. That is the part that is hard to buy. It is why a mixed fleet, an error code nobody recognises or a machine somebody else installed badly is a normal Tuesday rather than a problem.

Where we sit in this industry

For a long time there were two kinds of business you could call. A dealer, tied to one brand, who sold you a machine and serviced only that badge. Or a supplies reseller, who sold you a cartridge and could not send anyone when the machine stopped.

Neither of those describes a modern office. Offices run mixed fleets, they keep machines longer, and they would rather deal with one company than four. So a third kind of business has grown up in between, and we are one of them. The trade name for it is a value added reseller: we supply, rent and finance machines from more than one manufacturer rather than carrying a single badge, and we service every brand on site, through our own service desk. It means we can put the right machine in your office instead of the only machine we are allowed to sell, and still be the ones who turn up when it stops. The manufacturers and suppliers have come round to it too, and now back businesses like ours where once they would only deal through their own channel.

The honest reason is that the traditional model has been going backwards for customers while the demands on an office have gone up. We have grown through that period by doing the opposite: keeping the work in house, recording everything against the machine, and being straight about what a repair is worth. We think that is a better way for this industry to work, and we intend to keep proving it.

What we do

• Service and repairs on every major brand, with no contract needed. Book a repair.
• Machines, new Toshiba, Kyocera and HP or refurbished and renewed, bought outright or on rental, lease or commercial hire purchase.
• Service agreements with toner included and billing from your meter readings, on the machines we look after.
• Genuine toner and parts in the online shop, or through the portal if the machine is on an agreement, where the toner is included and you pay the freight.

Our service desk is in Brisbane. Every region we cover, from Perth to the Sunshine Coast, is booked through the same number and the same desk, so your machine's history follows it wherever it is.

What we believe

• Independent advice. We service every brand, so we recommend what suits your office rather than what we are tied to.
• Costs confirmed first. The attendance is confirmed when you book, and any part or further work is quoted before it goes ahead.
• Everything on file. Every call, part and meter reading is recorded against your machine, so nothing has to be explained twice.
• Say it plainly. If a machine is not worth repairing, or a cartridge is cheaper somewhere else, we would rather tell you than find out you checked.
