Toshiba e-STUDIO multifunctions are the machines we look after most on contract, and they are all through Brisbane offices, from the current 2020AC range to 2515AC and 2505AC machines still printing well years after their lease ended. We service all of them on site, casual or on a service agreement, colour and mono.
Most e-STUDIO faults we are called to in Brisbane come down to a handful of assemblies: the fuser unit, the developer units and drums, the transfer belt unit, the paper feed, and the RADF or DSDF document feeder on top. The sections below set out what each one does when it starts to go, in the terms your panel uses.

Mono machines built for volume. Drum, developer and fuser wear on a page count, and feed rollers wear on busy drawers.
e-STUDIO 2555C, e-STUDIO 3055C, e-STUDIO 3555C, e-STUDIO 4555C and e-STUDIO 5055C, the compact e-STUDIO 2010AC and e-STUDIO 2510AC, and the A4 e-STUDIO 400AC.
Older machines often off a finance lease, and smaller machines in branches and on desks. Repairable while parts last, and we will tell you plainly when one is not worth it.
What goes wrong on a Toshiba, in Toshiba's terms
The C44x codes. The e-STUDIO fuser uses a fuser belt and pressure roller heated by an IH coil. A fuser fault locks the machine, and it stays locked until the cause is fixed and a technician clears the fuser error count in service mode.
One per colour, each with its developer material and auto toner sensor. Faint or patchy colour, and the C38x to C3Bx auto toner sensor codes, usually start here. Developer material is replaced on a maintenance cycle.
The process unit, which Toshiba calls the EPU. Drum cleaning blades, main charger grids and needle electrodes are replaced as kits. Streaks, grey backgrounds and a C970 high voltage code point here.
Colours out of register, patchy solids, marks repeating down the page, and the C370 transfer belt code. The belt's cleaning blade is a maintenance part.
Misfeeds and double feeds from worn pickup, feed and separation rollers, fixed with a roller kit, and C130 or C140 when a drawer tray will not lift.
Originals that skew, crease or stop in the feeder, the E7xx jam codes. Usually the feeder rollers, and a clean of the scanning glass while we are there.
Staple jams, jams at the bridge unit, and CB00 when the machine and its finisher stop talking to each other.
The F1xx family: hard drive, file system and database errors after a power event or on an ageing drive. Your address book and scan settings are protected before any drive work is done, and scan to email is set up through TopAccess.
Toshiba error codes we are called to
Quote the code on the panel when you book. It tells the technician which part of the machine to look at, and which parts to bring.

Common questions
Can I clear a Toshiba error code myself?
Sometimes. E codes are paper jams, and clear once the paper is out and the covers are closed. Some C and F codes clear when the machine is switched off and on at the main power switch. Fuser codes, C440 to C449, will not: the machine keeps a count of fuser errors, and a technician has to fix the cause and reset that count in service mode. If a code comes back after a restart, book a call and quote the full code.
Do you service older e-STUDIO models?
Yes. The 2505AC and 2555C series are still common in Brisbane, and we service them the same way as the current machines while parts are available.
Can you service a Toshiba that came with a lease?
Yes, including machines that have come off a finance lease. If servicing is already included in an agreement you pay someone else for, we will tell you, rather than let you pay twice.
Is an older e-STUDIO worth repairing?
Usually, while parts are still available, because these machines were built to run for a long time. If a repair would cost more than the machine is worth to you, we will say so before any work goes ahead.
