Xerox machines reach Brisbane offices by every route: bought outright, on a finance lease, or as part of a print contract that has since ended. We service VersaLink, AltaLink, WorkCentre and Phaser machines on site whichever way they arrived, as a casual call or on a service agreement.
Much Xerox servicing is done by module, parts that come out as a unit: the drum cartridge, the fuser module, the transfer belt and roller, and the feed rollers in each tray. A lot of what looks like a breakdown is one of those modules reaching the end of its run, and the fault code usually says which one.
The Xerox machines we repair in Brisbane
VersaLink colour and black and white printers and multifunctions.
Xerox's current range for workgroups and smaller offices. Drum cartridges, fuser modules and tray feed rollers are the usual wear parts.
AltaLink colour and black and white multifunctions.
The larger, busier office machines, often with a finisher attached. Fuser, transfer and finisher work as the page counts climb.
WorkCentre multifunctions.
The range many offices ran before VersaLink and AltaLink arrived. Plenty are still printing well and worth keeping going while parts are available.
Phaser desktop printers.
Printers on desks and in branches. Mostly imaging parts and paper feed.
ColorQube, DocuColor, CopyCentre and Document Centre.
Older machines still at work. Repairable while parts last, and we will tell you straight when one is not worth the money.
What goes wrong on a Xerox, in Xerox's terms
Repeating marks, faded patches and streaks down the page. On colour machines there is one per colour, and each wears at its own rate.
Toner that rubs off, creased pages, and the 010 fault codes. A fuser fault locks the machine for safety until the cause is fixed.
Patchy colour and faint areas on the colour models as the belt and roller wear.
Misfeeds, double feeds and the 071 to 075 codes when rollers wear smooth. A tray that will not lift can be something caught underneath it.
Jams in the 077 codes between the registration point, the fuser and the exit, usually a worn roller or a sensor that needs cleaning.
Originals that skew, stop or double feed on the way through, and the 005 codes. Its rollers wear just like the tray rollers do.
Stapling, stacking and output faults, and communication errors between the machine and its finisher.
Hard drive errors, and scan to email or scan to folder failures after a password, server or network change. Your address book is protected before any drive is replaced.
Xerox error codes we are called to
Quote the code on the panel when you book. It tells the technician which part of the machine to look at, and which parts to bring.
| Code | What it points to |
|---|---|
| 010-327 to 010-379 | Fuser faults: temperature, sensor and heating problems. A safety lock that needs a technician. |
| 077-101 to 077-126 | Jams in the paper path through registration, the fuser exit and duplex. Clear the paper; repeats in one spot need a technician. |
| 071-105 to 075-135 | Paper from a tray or the bypass tray did not arrive at the registration point in time. |
| 071-210 to 074-210 | A tray did not lift. Check nothing is under the paper; if it returns, the lift motor or sensor needs a look. |
| 005-122 to 005-147 | Originals jammed inside the document feeder. |
| 047-216 | The machine lost contact with its finisher. A restart often clears it. |
| 016-503 and 016-764 | Scan to email could not find or reach the email server. |

Common questions
Can I clear a Xerox fault code myself?
Sometimes. A paper jam clears once the paper is out, and a communication fault such as 047-216 often clears when the machine is switched off and back on. Fuser codes in the 010 range are safety locks, so leave those for a technician. If a code survives a restart, book a call and give us all six digits.
Is Xerox the same as Fuji Xerox?
Not any more. Fuji Xerox is now Fujifilm Business Innovation, and its machines carry the Fujifilm name. Xerox branded machines are Xerox's own range. The two share the same style of fault code, and we service both.
Can you service a Xerox that came on a lease or print contract?
Yes, including machines whose contract has finished. If servicing is still included in an agreement you are paying for elsewhere, we will point that out before booking, so you do not pay twice.
Is an older WorkCentre worth repairing?
Often, while parts are still available. If the repair would cost more than the machine is worth to you, we will say so up front, before any work is done.
Where in Brisbane do you attend?
Everywhere in Brisbane: the CBD and inner city, the north side and Moreton Bay, Logan and the Redlands, and Ipswich and the west, all through one service desk.
Are your technicians qualified?
All our technicians are trained and certified.
