We service Canon imageRUNNER copiers and the imageCLASS and MAXIFY printers found in smaller offices, whether or not the machine came from us.
Canon runs from small desktop units through to large office multifunctions, and the two ends of that range are different jobs. We work on both, including the floor standing imageRUNNER copiers sitting in a lot of offices.
We service Canon mono and colour photocopiers, multifunction printers and laser printers, and the older imageRUNNER models that are still worth keeping running.

Common Canon work
Canon's name for the fuser. Creasing, smearing or a fixing error on the panel.
Faded or streaky output on the imageRUNNER fleet, replaced by page count.
Cassette and bypass misfeeds, the most common Canon call.
Stapling, sorting and booklet faults on the larger machines, which are mechanical and repairable.

How Canon repairs and service are booked
All Canon repairs and service go through one service desk, whichever office the call is for. The desk asks for the E code and the digits after it, the model, and whether the panel shows an error, a jam or an alarm. That is usually enough to work out the failed assembly and what the technician should carry, and the attendance charge is given to you at booking.
On site, the technician confirms the cause before replacing anything. Fixing assembly codes are cleared in service mode only after the fault is fixed, so a Canon that has been restarted again and again will still need the repair. Parts are quoted to you before they are ordered, and nothing beyond that quote goes ahead without your agreement.
Choosing who services your Canon photocopier
Ask a few direct questions. Do they read the detail code, not just the E number? Can they get film units, drum units, developing assemblies and ITB parts for your generation of imageRUNNER ADVANCE? Will they tell you honestly when an older machine is past repairing? Do they look after the finisher, the document feeder and the scanning as well as the print engine?
Ask whether they work on the smaller Canon models too, since many offices run imageCLASS printers beside the main copier and it helps to have one service desk for both. All our technicians are trained and certified. It is also fair to ask how meter readings are collected and how parts are quoted, so the business knows what to expect.
Canon toner, parts and consumables to keep on hand
The DSA shop sells Canon toner and parts, genuine and compatible, for the models it lists. A spare toner container for each colour you use most, a spare waste toner case and a box of staples for the finisher cover most stoppages. When the panel says a toner container can be replaced, that is the moment to order or fit the next one.
Life parts are fitted by the technician rather than kept on a shelf. Each wears on a page count: the fixing film unit, every drum unit and developing assembly, the transfer rollers, the ITB with its cleaning blade, and the feed and separation rollers. Replacing them at their counts on a service visit keeps a Canon printing rather than stopping on a worn part.
Canon codes offices ask us about
Every Canon code family, and which ones a restart may clear, is in our Canon error code guide. A few that come up often:
| Code | What it points to | Restart? |
|---|---|---|
| E400-0001, E400-0002 | The reader and the document feeder stopped communicating. Switching off and on again often clears this one. | Worth one restart |
| E500-0000, E500-0001 | Communication between the main machine and its finisher has been lost, and a technician needs to trace why. | Needs a technician |
| E531, E532 | Stapler home position fault: the stapler or its drive motor did not leave home, or did not get back to it. | Needs a technician |
| E602 | The controller cannot see the hard drive, or cannot read one of its partitions. The detail code pinpoints which. | Needs a technician |
| E744-0001, E744-2000 | Firmware or language files do not match, typically after an incomplete update or a drive taken from another machine. | Needs a technician |
| E747-1201 | An image processing error linked to one print job. A restart usually clears it, but resending that file may repeat it. | Worth one restart |
| E808-0000 | Zero cross error: the mains signal vanished while the fixing relay was on, pointing at the AC driver or the supply at the wall. | Needs a technician |
Canon spare parts
Our Canon spare parts list sets out the parts by part number, with the models each one fits. Ask the service desk for any of them, on its own or fitted by a technician.
