The Kyocera ECOSYS M8124cidn and ECOSYS M8130cidn are the compact A3 colour multifunctions Kyocera has sold across Australia for years, usually with a three year on site warranty. There are thousands of them in Queensland offices, and when the warranty ends their owners find two things: genuine parts and toner are dear, and not every service company knows the machine. We do. Document Services Australia is a Kyocera Platinum partner, we service these two models every week across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, and we carry the parts that go in them. Whatever you need for an 8124 or an 8130, this is the page: service, parts, toner, error codes, a trade in, an upgrade, or one on rental.
The two models in one line
The M8124cidn is 24 pages a minute and the M8130cidn is 30; otherwise they are the same machine: A3 colour print, copy and scan, a document feeder, two cassettes with more available, and Kyocera's long life drum design. They share toner and parts, so everything below applies to both.
Service and repairs for the M8124cidn and M8130cidn in Brisbane
Most of what we attend on these two is the maintenance kit on its count, paper feed rollers on the busier cassette, the document feeder's rollers, waste toner, and scan to email or folder stopping after a network or password change. Lines and bands on colour pages are usually a drum or the transfer belt, which are told apart on site. Tell the service desk the model, the page count on the panel and the fault or the code, and the technician brings what it usually needs. Kyocera repairs in Brisbane has the error codes we are called to and the booking steps; toner, parts and service for the M8124cidn and for the M8130cidn are the model pages.
Parts: the maintenance kit and what wears
Kyocera publishes one part for these machines, the 200,000 page maintenance kit: MK-8115A (black) and MK-8115B (colour), fitted when the panel calls for it. Beyond the kit it is feed rollers, separation pads, the document feeder kit, the transfer belt and the fuser, all of which we stock or can get within days through Kyocera. Genuine or compatible is your choice, quoted before it is fitted; on a machine out of warranty we will say which is worth it.
Toner for the M8124cidn and M8130cidn
Both take the TK-8119 set: TK-8119K black, TK-8119C cyan, TK-8119M magenta and TK-8119Y yellow, in our shop with Brisbane delivery, or included on a service agreement so you never buy a cartridge again.
What the machine costs to run, and the cheaper way to run it
Bought on genuine toner and genuine parts at retail, an 8124 or 8130 printing a few thousand colour pages a month is one of the dearer small A3 machines to own. The same machine on a DSA service agreement is billed from the pages it prints, with toner, parts, labour and travel covered, and the figure is usually well under what the office was paying for cartridges alone. Send us a month of your toner invoices and we will show you the difference in writing.
Trade in or upgrade your 8124 or 8130
If yours is at the end of its warranty or its count, we buy them, and we take them in trade against the next machine. The usual move is up to a TASKalfa 2554ci or a current TASKalfa, or a new M8124cidn if the size suited you: as a Kyocera Platinum partner we buy at the best Kyocera pricing available to a dealer, and that is what your monthly figure is worked from. What each Kyocera costs a month, and rental, lease and finance in Brisbane.
Rent an M8124cidn or M8130cidn
New or refurbished, on a monthly figure with the servicing on the same agreement, delivered, installed and set up on your network with the old machine taken away. Tell us your pages a month and whether you need the 24 or the 30 page a minute engine.
Common questions
My 8124 says call service with a C code. What now? Write the code down exactly, note the page count, and book. Some codes are a part on its count; some are a sensor or a door switch; the code tells us which to bring.
Is it worth fixing an 8130 out of warranty? Usually yes, well past its warranty, because the drums are long life and the maintenance kit is the main cost. We will say plainly when it is not.
Do you take an 8124 as a trade in on a Toshiba or HP? Yes. The trade in goes against whichever machine suits you, Kyocera or not.
Can you supply compatible toner for the TK-8119? Yes, and genuine. Both are in the shop and either can go on an agreement.
