What we check in a copier quote
Most copier quotes in Brisbane look alike on the first page and differ on the second. These are the lines we read, and the ones that cost offices money when nobody reads them.
- The machine against your pages. A 25 page a minute machine quoted to an office printing 15,000 pages a month will be replaced in two years; a 55 page a minute machine quoted to an office printing 2,000 is money for nothing. We check the speed, the paper capacity and the finisher against what you actually print.
- The term and the total. A monthly figure over 60 months is a different price from the same figure over 36. We add it up, including the copy charges at your volume, so you see the real cost of the quote over its life.
- The copy charges. The cents per page for black and colour, whether toner is included, whether there is a minimum monthly volume you pay for whether you print it or not, and what happens to the rate each year.
- What is left out. Delivery, installation, network setup, training, the cabinet or paper feeder the machine stands on, the finisher, and the cost of removing your old machine.
- The end of the term. Who owns the machine at the end, what the return conditions are, whether the agreement rolls over by itself, and the notice period. This is the line that catches most offices.
- Who looks after it. Whether the people selling it are the people who service it, how far away the technician is, and what the response time promise says.
What you get back
A short written comparison within one business day: the quote you were given, line by line, beside what we would do for the same machine or a better fit, with the total over the term for both. If their quote is the better deal, we will say so. If ours is, you have it in writing to take back to them or to us.
