Konica Minolta shows these as C followed by four characters, for example C3425. The first character after the C gives the area: C0 is paper feed, C1 the finisher, C2 the drums, developing and transfer, C3 the fusing unit, C4 the laser, C6 and C9 the scanner, C8 the document feeder, and CA to CE the controller, firmware and hard disk. Write the whole code down before you do anything else.
Some faults show instead as a warning code, such as P-6 or S-1, behind a maintenance mark on the screen. The machine keeps working, but the code tells a technician what the image checks found. Jams show as two numbers, such as 11-01, which say where the sheet stopped.
How Konica Minolta codes are sorted
Serious or safety related, including the fusing temperature faults and scanner lamp failures. Opening the doors or switching off and on will not clear it: a technician fixes the cause and resets it with the trouble reset procedure.
Tied to one part, such as a motor, a tray lift or the finisher. Opening and closing the front door resets it. If it comes straight back, the part needs attention.
Mostly communication, controller and software errors. Switching off at the main power switch and back on resets it, and by default the machine tries this by itself.
Before you call
- Write down the full code and what the machine was doing when it appeared.
- If the screen offers to carry on without the faulty part, such as one tray, stapling or folding, the scanner or the document feeder, you can keep using the rest of the machine while you wait for us.
- Open and close the front door once. If the code is still there, switch off at the main power switch, wait a minute, and switch back on. Many rank B and C codes clear this way.
- If it comes back, or it is a fusing code from C3425 to C3926, stop there. Repeated restarts will not fix the cause, and the fusing area runs hot.
- Call us with the code and the model. The code tells the technician which parts to bring.

Messages that are not faults
A toner cartridge is running low. Not a fault, and printing carries on: have a new cartridge ready. On a service agreement, order it from the customer portal.
A cartridge is empty. Depending on how the machine is set up, it asks you to replace the toner cartridge or to contact your service provider.
The waste toner box needs replacing. The machine senses when it is nearly full, keeps count from there, and asks for a new box when it is full.
A wear part, such as a drum unit, developing unit, fusing unit, transfer belt unit, transfer roller unit or ozone filter, is near the end of its life. Book a service so it is fitted before the machine stops printing.
A jam. The screen shows numbered positions: a flashing number is where the jam happened, and a lit number is where paper is left. The jam code, where the machine is set to show it, gives the area: 10 to 16 the bypass, trays and large capacity tray, 66 the document feeder, 72 the finisher. Clear it gently, and call if the same code keeps coming back.
Dirt found on the document feeder's scanning glass, which can put lines on copies. Wipe the narrow glass strip clean, and call if the warning stays.
